August is Cataract Awareness Month. It is estimated that 20.5 million Americans older than 40 have a cataract in either eye. That number is expected to rise to 30.1 million by the year 2020.
Age-related macular degeneration affects more than 1.75 million people in the United States. Due to the rapid aging of the U.S. population, this number is expected to increase to almost 3 million by the year 2020.
Anyone with questions on the screening is asked to call (765) 939-2020 or visit http://www.makriseyemd.com/home.htm.
